350 Final Drive Bearings

Post by wagonerkl » Tue May 16, 2017 10:05 pm

I am putting together a final drive on a 350 dozer that was taken apart years ago by guy who has passed on. After hours of digging through his workshop, I came up with just about everything to put it back together with the exception of the brake drum and the bearings and seals.

I see bearing kits running from $70 (bearings and seats only) to over $400 (all bearings, seats, and seals). Has anyone ever sourced these on their own through Timken or National, or Federal-Mogul? If so, can you please pass on the part number information? I just can't see paying $400 for a few bearings and seals of "unknown" origin. Thanks.

Also, anyone know where to get a brake drum?

$400 is a little high, I would guess $300 with seals, axle seal is close to $100 alone I think.
