450E fuel delivery, help I'm scared
Been doing a lot of earthmoving, I figured it was getting low on fuel. Parked it on a 30* bank and hopped off to check my grades. When I came back the engine had stalled. Won't start. I pulled the fuel dipstick, had 2" on it. Please tell me the fuel is drawn from the center of the tank or even the left side. I am hoping it is out of fuel. Its dark now, cant dig into it deeper.

Just in case anybody reads this, years down the road, it was on a hard enough slope that it was not getting fuel. I was doing a bunch of flat work or near flat work, wanted to move it out of the way of the lasers so i put it on a bank, 30* angle with the right side of the dozer downhill. I put 14 gallon of fuel in it. Priming arm on fuel pump was still limp, no suction. I cranked the engine 10 seconds. Priming arm then had resistance. Filled the new filter, which is a John Deere AR50041. Cracked #1 injector, cranked for about 5 seconds, and it wanted to take off. Tightened injector line. Cranked and it popped right off.
Keywords. 450 ran out of fuel.

I was running a John Deere 700 H last year and at 1/8 of a tank it ran out of fuel and I was working on flat ground.
My observation has been, John Deere fuel gauges are not quite calibrated right. When you fill them up, the fuel gauge shows well past full, but they run out of fuel before empty.
Just an observation...

I have no intention of traveling to my grave in a well manicured body; instead I am going to slide into heaven with a big power turn, totally wore out with busted knuckles, jump off my dozer loudly yelling, Woo Hoo, another Shepard has just arrived!
