A track on my JD 450c came off, what would be the best way to get it back on?

If you have the grease fitting on the yoke that attaches to the idler wheel like my 350 to tighten the track, I loosen up the fitting and find a way to push the wheel towards the back as far as possible, the get out the pry bars and jacks, try to lift the side up enough to pry the track back on. I've had to do it while the dozer was hung up on rocks while leaning down a hill. Its a pain but can be done. Good luck.

I do pretty much what 350 strait suggest but I also use a small come a long to pull the slack of the track towards the bucket, keeps all the slack from gathering at the top.

The first time I threw a track I spent a few hours figuring it all out. The last time I threw a track I could put it on in 45 minutes. Just have to wade off into and figure it out. At the end of the day it's a fairly simple operation that takes alot of brute force and testicle fortitude and pry bars...long heavy pry bars LOL.

Where are you in Missouri ? I'm in SW missouri down around the Joplin area. If you were near me I'd come lend you a hand!

Only a couple hours to Ft Smith.

I guess he figured it out or thought free help cost to much ...lol

At the end of the day it's not rocket science but I sure would of loved to have someone help me my first time so much so that I'd probably of drove a couple of hours to pay it forward so to speak.
