Broken hyd hose

Post by speedbear » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:45 pm

I had the misfortune of a ruptured hyd hose on my 350 loader. This hose is for the bucket "roll" & it is located is the most unacessable location on the machine. It is buried deep in the left side of the cockpit area, right below the pivot point for the rear boom arm. I can barely see the fitting. I can get a wrench on it, but can't turn it. The top line is off, but I need an idea to get the other end off. Butch from Pgh

I have a 450C and I replaced all those hoses, all I can say is they are a joy to get in and out. The easiest method I found was to pull the rear pin for the lift/boom cylinder and get the rear of the lift/boom cylinder to move forward so you can get at the fittings. I used a combination of crows feet and offset wrenches. Also as a suggestion, at the very least replace all the hoses in that area.

I agree, I pulled the cylinder instead of just taking loose the back end. It's the only way I found and it's still a real blast.......

I had a black finger nail for 5 months out of that deal....hose broke loose and I smashed my finger between it and the loader frame.....I used 4 or the 7 bad words!
