John Deere 350/450 value

Post by Sjjbib » Sat Sep 16, 2017 5:34 pm

Hi guys, I recently asked some questions about a 1010... I decided I am better off looking into a 350 or 450. I guess my biggest question is how to really value these crawlers.... I understand if the undercarriage is shot I could be looking at minimum of 5 grand rebuilding it myself.... I am looking for something with a 6 way blade, and hopefully good running crawler that is ready to work, I understand that things will break and I will have to work on a older crawler. I am seeing a few early 70s jd 350s apparently in good running condition for 11/12,000. I have also seen some 450s for similar price, how much value does a good working winch add to a crawler ?? Is this price point appropriate? I will attach a few links of some crawlers I am looking at..... appreciate your input.

I think values vary by regions. Prices also vary depending which 350/450 series you are looking at. 350c is more valuable than earlier series b/c of its wet clutches. 350d, even better b/c of the improved clucth/flywheel design. 450c and later are more valuable b/c of the wet clutches. In the mid-plains, a good 350 straight/b with blade is 6,000-8,000. 350c-d 8,000-12,000. 450 straight/b with dozer is 8,000-10,000. 450c dozer is 10,000-12,000.

The winch only adds 1,000-2,000$ to the crawler. Often the winches are removed and sold seperate b/c they are worth more sold separate. Same with the faileads and arches. They seem to be worth much more sold separately. Good luck, Bruce

I am in central Pennsylvania, and was in the market for a 450E 2 years ago. I found one with 3200 hours, pins just turned in the U/C and new sprockets. Rest of U/C is 75% or better. Paid $12,700. I have put 150 hours on it the past 2 years, zero issues.
