Spherical washers for the steering clutch

Post by Cle Elum John » Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:03 pm

Hey
I was adjusting the steering clutch throw out on my newly acquired 450. The prior owner did not install any of the spherical washers on the adjustment bolts. John Deere is asking $13 each and I need all 4. The math does not look favorable. Is there a generic replacement? I still need to go fishing with a magnet in the clutch/brake box. Might find one or two of them down there.

Cle, I found years ago when I had this problem.. that the bushing for the rocker arm on big block chevy motors is an exact replacement fit,, and I suspect a lot of small block chevys might also work.. it is right under the locknut for the rocker arm.. Mark

Thanks for the tip. I am picking up this job again. I may be able find a couple out in my junk pile.
