Maybe you guys can help me with a question on adjusting the steering on my 66 350 diesel. On page 140-5-2 of the Service manual, right side, last paragraph it says "Pull back on clutch control arm until throwout bearing just contacts the clutch fingers." When I look down in the hole, with the aid of a flashlight, and then pull back on the clutch control arm, I can see the throwout bearing move but I can't see WHEN the throwout bearing "just contacts the clutch fingers." Am I supposed to be able to see this happening or is it all feel? I want to adjust it properly but I feel like I'm just guessing when contact is made.

I have done the adjustment based on feel, similar to a car, tractor or truck with the left foot. At first there should be very little resistance, maybe just the return spring, then as you advance you should feel a "mechanical " connection when the throw-out bearing touches the steering clutch plate.
