Re: 450B
I have never heard of a dry clutch B converted to a wet clutch C. I would compare the schematics in the parts book very closely. Have you researched dry clutch long-term storage on this site? Best regards, Bruce

Re: 450B
Hi,
Dry clutches are fine as long as you keep the machine under a shed roof when you are not using it. While you are at it, the track chains will be happier if you keep some planks between them and the ground. My 420c dry clutches were last done back in 1998 and it only gets used a couple hours a month on average. It is kept on planks under a shed roof, and always has been. That is the 420c second dry clutch re-do. The first was in 1966, and it is a 1958 machine.
Oh, and I have seen enough to say that using a plastic tarp in place of a shed roof doesn't work out well at all. You need to keep the water off the machine yet allow good airflow.
I am not into the 450, and I hesitate to speak directly to it, but in this case I will compare apples and oranges. The wet clutches meant a major redesign to the final drives on the 350 when it went from B to C. I think the same is true for the 450. So, the idea of getting TMs and PCs for both the 450B and C and spending a few hours with them side-by-each is a very good one before you decide to change things.

Re: 450B
I highly doubt conversion is even possible unless you take a part a C model and put all the parts in the older machine. It isn't just a function of the clutches running in oil, there is a lot more to it than that.
