Jd 350 steering clutch
Jd 350 steering clutch
I am rebuilding one side on my 350. I took 7 and 8 discs out and am putting in New steel and bimetallic discs. I can only fit 6 and 7 discs for the correct pattern. It is a bit thinner than what was there but with 7 and 8 it is about 3/16 of and inch too thick. Is it alright to put it together like that? Thanks

Sounds like you maybe forgot that one pair goes in before the snap ring is installed.

Re: Jd 350 steering clutch
I had the same issue on mine and discovered what original possum said...I still don't know why, but one set goes before the snap ring. Everything should be nearly flush with the housing when the install is complete. Make sure your use the pressure plate guage to adjust the 3 fingers.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice that's what I did wrong. Have it all back together now and it works great.
