So have you found any fluid anywhere? Just curious if you found anything yet. I had my doubts about the cooler being bad but it is still good to have them checked. There isn't a lot to the cooler on a 350. It is basically a passageway through the bottom of the radiator. I have only seen one that cracked and shot fluid into the radiator. The cooling system on these 350's is low pressure anyway. Most are around seven pounds. So it doesn't take much to overwhelm them. Let us know what you find and I hope for your sake it isn't too bad. :)

Update, a owner from another site has experienced the same problem. They say the steering clutch pressure plate orings have failed. This person recommends draining the finals, leaving out the drain and running to see which side leaks. This person also recommends installing the new aluminum pressure plate assembly. This person seems very informative and surprisingly is a women !

Not meaning to dispute anyone but the other gentleman is correct if the problem is a leaking seal or piston in the steering clutch area you would have a gain in the fluid level in the transmission I have a 350c and have had the finals and steering clutches out of it. If you pour a quart of oil on the floor it looks like a gallon , 15 gallons should be a lake if it’s leaking out that fast . Bottom line is if the leak is in your steering clutches that fluid is leaking in your transmission and the level would have to rise

Hi,

Just a point here. 350B steering clutches are dry. So, you have a 350C and not a B?

Hi Stan,

Its in a post from last November where he says he found out it is a C with wet clutches.

The question is still how he has put 15 gallons through the reverser (holds 10 quarts according to the spec sheet) in 3 fillings, without it showing up as a leak, or other compartments being way over full. He may pull the final plugs as suggested in a post he found on another site and find excess oil there, but I don't think that even if both finals are full it can account for 15 gallons. Interesting case to say the least.

Hi,

Ah. I see. This thread goes back to 2018. I had managed to forget that. Heck, I can hardly remember what I did last week.... So, call me confused. And, I just read it from the beginning and I'm even more confused....
