Oil pump removal

Post by jbloam » Mon Nov 19, 2018 12:57 pm

I have read this forum as I was looking to buy a dozer. I ended up with a 350 straight to clear a small lot for a house and driveway. My question however has to do with a Deere 410 backhoe I am doing an in frame rebuild on. It has the 4219 engine which I beleive is common to Deere dozers also. So I am hoping for some advice. I cannot get the drive gear off of the oil pump shaft to be able to remove the oil pump. I cannot acces the front main bearing without removing the oil pump. There is no room for a gear puller . I have tried prybars and wedging a grade 8 bolt with a nut between the shaft end and the frame then turning the nut to force the bolt against the shaft. No luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
