450C hydraulic pump not turning
450C hydraulic pump not turning
Hi. Trying to bust through a windrow of frozen dirt and logs with my 450C manual outside dozer today. After winching a log out of the mess went to lift blade and nothing happened. Oil was visible in sight glass, no unusual noise. Looked at pump drive, splined drive shaft turning very slowly, something has stripped out. Is there a usual failure mode in this situation? Does the pump shaft strip or is it the engine drive adapter that fails? Does not have the disengage feature like the 350's.

Re: 450C hydraulic pump not turning
Your drive coupler is stripped. Pull your hard nose so you can check if your pump is spinning freely and if so replace the coupler. Will fit off your parts 350. Your pump should be the small / low volume one which is not very common. I believe there are 2-3 pump sizes available. We have lots of the large aftermarket pumps which would work but your hydraulics will be very fast.
