Is there a resource out there that would tell me my engine model #? I've got what I believe is a 1981 555 (straight triple nickel) SN# 555-A 372133T.
I was told it's a 300 series, 276 cu. in. engine. Does that sound right? 4 cyl turbo diesel. I can't seem to find any identifiers on the engine itself to determine the model or engine series number.
I'm researching ahead in case I need to go turbo shopping. I'm hoping I can use all the advice from my other post and get it off the old manifold. Just in case things go to heck I want to have my info so I can get ordering.
As always, thank you in advance for your help on this adventure

Re: Engine model # in my 555 track loader
Good morning,
Your engine should be a turbocharged 4276 according to JD info. The engine serial number metal tag should be on the right side of the engine, below the engine oil filter, just to the rear of the fuel transfer pump, and a bit ahead of the starter.
