BTW, while I've got it open and working on it like this, I have a cover over the exhaust stack, but do I need to worry about tarping/covering things from the weather? I'm in Pacific Northwest, so mostly talking rain.

It never hurts to keep the weather off them. It is amazing the places water will get to.
