350 slope board
350 slope board
I have finally finished restoring a 1967 350 dozer. It has a slope board on it that works. I don't know what a slope board is used for, and if I sell it, I don't have any idea what range they sell for. I imagine they are used to work on uphill road slopes, but what else? So, my question is: What are slope boards usually used for? Anyone know?

Re: 350 slope board
I saw that Rockwell ad when I was furiously Google-ing "Use of Dozer Slope Boards." It was about the only thing that came up. I was hoping there might be someone on here who does or did this for a living and would know how they are commonly used.
The ad points out that it can be used as an extension of the main blade to increase the volume of material being pushed. They also mentioned "fine grading," which apparently is the opposite of rough grading, and the boards are sometimes used for more precise grading -- sometimes in preparation for cementing.
I was hoping it would go past parallel to the main blade, for sloping shoulders, but apparently it doesn't.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: 350 slope board
I thought a slope board went under both tracks and was used to get off the hill quicker when there was sufficient snow.

nope....thats when you are on ice on a hillside and tracks become skates!!!!! the hill is slope board
Re: 350 slope board
I had that happen to me yesterday, along with the o’shit feeling while picking up speed going sideways! Luckily I was stopped by the snow that was piled up on the side of the road before I went down a steep slope board!!

Apparently you all know about as much about them as I do.
