Jd 450c hydraulic oil in bellhousing

Post by Gaylonbuch » Sun Mar 24, 2019 6:14 am

Think I need to change front pump seal on hlr. How do I change this easiest way possible. Looks like clutch rod is going to be hardest to deal with.

Good morning Gaylonbuch,

You should post this over in the late model technical support board, that is where it will get the most views from the folks familiar with these later model crawlers, and likely more answers. After that you can do an edit to this post and delete it.

HTH, Best regards,

Jim

Here is what I went through to find a leak on a straight 450. I got the leak fixed but am still working on the HLR shifting problem.

You will need to pull the clutch housing to remove the pump housing and replace the front seal.
Be sure to check the front transmission cover gasket for leaks. There are more posts about this just search on my name.
