Quick question about my 450b

Hello all, putting my 450b back together after a long overhaul. I can't figure out what the "sending unit" is on the left side of the transmission with the two wire terminals? It is located on the housing where the reverser shifter goes into the transmission housing. Left side when your in the seat. Opposite side of the temp sender and filter housing. I don't think it was hooked up when I tore it down? Cant seem to find it in my manuals. Thanks.
