Tilting Hard nose on 450c dozer
Tilting Hard nose on 450c dozer
Question on proceeding here, 450c with six way blade, pretty new to this machine. I have the service manuals and all but not much is mentioned on this front. Do i need to remove anything other than the filter bracket to do this? The side bolts look really close to the blade frame no matter what position i have the blade at. Thanks in advance from the FNG. f ing new guy!!

Re: Tilting Hard nose on 450c dozer
I have a 450B trackloader.
As well as the filter mount, I had to raise limb risers and remove belly pan. Then, it’s just the two bolts on each side.
I had the loader raised so, was able to use that and a come-along to support hard nose.
I completely removed mine for radiator and water pump repair.

Thanks lab, that lower bolt that goes through that wishbone looking bracket clearance is so tight on this dozer model i cant even sneak a wrench in there. Got busy doing a service on the rollers, carrier and idlers last night and never messed with the nose because i wanted an easy win. That what im after is the water pump, it runs great but there is a coolant seep some place, vert minor but i want to get it and check the pump out too.
Good news was only 3 rollers needed oil and none of the plugs stripped out!

There is info about the dedicated picture server for this site on the Messageboard Q&A and Announcements board. To use it you need to set up a user name and log in with Lavoy. You make a Gallery/album for yourself there to store your photos. You can then copy and paste them on here using the img button. Some use other 3rd party servers but I can't help you with how those work. The photos don't always show up, or disappear after a time, when those are used it seems.
