I just got done with brakes and steering clutches on a 450 dozer. I have about 20hrs of use and one of the tracks was a little loose. Blew out the seal on the adjuster when trying to tighten it. It did not take much pressure and it was probably leaking anyway. Is there a clever of replacing the seals without breaking the track. I just put the track together and welded the master pins. Is there a work around? I am just about ready to do some I will regret with a welder.

This is only repeating what I've seen posted places, haven't done it myself, I always split the track.
Some say they totally collapsed the adjuster, unbolted the adjuster yoke from the idler blocks, pulled the idler ahead as far as they could (chain tight), and were able to get the yoke and piston out. My guess is, success of that stands a better chance the more worn the tracks are.

I tried that on my 450 and didn't have enough room to get it out.

Guess the track will be split. I just welded those master pins in. Probably should do both sides. Life is tough.
