9300 backhoe

Post by tuney443 » Wed Oct 16, 2019 8:21 am

Does anyone have any idea on how to retrofit a diverter valve from an older 450 loader to make it work on a 450C dozer with 6 way blade? This is for adding on a 9300 hoe attachment.

I’m not sure if I’ve seen a loader with a diverter valve, normally a power beyond valve (screws into loader valve) would be used to allow simultaneous flow to both loader and hoe. The loader power beyond valve doesn’t fit a Dozer valve. We’ve installed hoes on both 350 and 450 dozers both with and without the diverter valve.

For a non diverter install we took the pressure line from the pump, ran it thru a relief valve with its own return to the tank, feed the hoe and then ran the hoe return to the dozer valve. That way we could set the hoe relief independent of the dozer, just enough pressure to allow pushing the dozer around with the hoe and we used the higher flow loader pump. An extra relief is necessary as the hoe doesn’t have one. Dozer was fast but manageable. This was on a widepad 450C.
