350B pump

Post by gregjo1948 » Sun Nov 17, 2019 5:04 am

Got a 350B coming in that I need to pull the hydraulic pump off. Does the nose need to be removed to get the pump out or can I just remove the grill, lines and mounting bolts and lift it out? I don't know if it has the pump disconnect on it but, if it does, do I need to remove it or will it roll out of the way as I pull the pump back? thanks, gregjo1948

Good morning gregjo1948,

I think you can pull the pump out without removing the nose or drive. You might have to pull the nose and maybe the radiator to service the drive due to access. Just my thoughts, and could be wrong.

Good luck,

Jim

Hey Jim B,
I remember the pump and lines are easily accessed going thru the nose with the grill out. I just can't remember if, once I remove the lines and mounting bolts, that the pump can be pulled back and up out with the pump disconnect lever/fork in place. thanks for the reply, gregjo1948

I'm pretty sure the pump will pull out of the drive. I think the couplings, either disconnect drive or the non-disconnect drive, at the pump shaft are all slip fits with nothing locking them to the pump shaft (other than rust and spline wear).

The reason I'm so curious is wheather I want to bother moving the machine to my shop or if I could easily/quickly remove the pump on site.

There is room to pull the pump with the nose on but its not easy when the shaft is rusted tight in the couplers. Removed the lines and two mounting bolts and spent 2 more hours getting the rusted splines apart. gregjo1948
