creeping dozer blade

Post by Pat S » Tue Dec 24, 2019 2:38 pm

I have a 450cc dozer and the blade creeps down slowly. Does anyone have suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? could this be seals on lift pistons or could this be in the valve assembly?

You will need to isolate those identified components. The easiest to test would be the cylinders. You will need to remove the hoses to the dozer up and dozer down cylinders on both sides. I have used made up hoses to connect the up circuit to the down circuit on the same cylinder. (One hose for the left and one for the right). I have also used four cylinder hose fittings, with no hose. I have brazed or welded the openings closed and attach to the cylinders. Dozer c frame needs to be in the air when you fill the cylinders with oil and tighten the fittings. If the c frame drifts down, you at least know the cylinders are part of the problem. If no drift, then you can be pretty certain it is the valve. Best regards, Bruce
