350B pump
I had to replace the seal in a 350B dozer hydraulic pump. Turned out to have a 1010 pump on it which, I figure JD was using up left over 1010 pumps.
I filled it with fluid and have the proper amount of fluid in the reservoir but, it doesn't pump and it worked fine before it was removed. What did I do wrong???? thanks, Greg

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but, you didn't put something up into the suction line, to stop dripping, when you pulled the pump off did you? I known of such getting pushed up into a line out of sight during re-assembly and causing a blockage. Did the drive coupling mesh?

Re: 350B pump
Another silly question---Is there-where is the hydraulic fluid filter for the front pump?(blade reservoir)

Good morning Greg,
Your hydraulic filter is inside the reservoir. You likely know this, you have to go to the parts catalog for your blade to find the hydraulic parts. I took a guess, based on your tag line (JD 350B diesel 6way blade) that you have a full hydraulic inside 6 way blade (model 6305). It looks like there is a steel mesh suction screen in at least some as well. Here are links to both in the parts catalog you can check out. HTH

Re: 350B pump
Thanks Jim---I didn't know that's where the filters were listed.

Re: 350B pump
The 350C parts catalog has the bulldozer blades and backhoes, with related hydraulics, in the crawler catalog, the loaders still remained in their own catalogs. Up until then the bulldozers were a separate catalog for each model dozer, so you need to know the dozer model to find the right catalog.

Found the problem and it was even dumber than leaving something in the suction line. Some dumba$$ switched the placement of the gears in the pump so it was trying to pump into the suction side. Talk about a BEGINNER!!!! In my defense--There is a direction arrow on both sides of the pump housing and I didn't realize it until trying to find out why it wasn't pumping. The arrows show the pump direction in opposite directions so I inadvertently used the wrong arrow without actually looking at which way it would be pumping. I figure the opposite arrow must be for a different application. The pump is installed and working fine which, is a good way to start 2020. Happy New Year, Greg

Glad you found the problem and it didn't have a big cost to fix. You are not alone. I'm sure we have all let our dumba$$ do things we might not tell about.
