As LeonardL said, your group 31 should be fine.

My 450C came with 2 batteries, I removed one when I had to replace them. I've gotten my property mostly cleared now so I don't use the loader as often as I once did, if it's cold out I stay inside. That being said, one battery has been fine. I have to say though, the real stating improvement has been the gear reduction starter.

At this point I'm just plain curious as to what solves your issue.

Can't tell from the "specs" but is it lead-acid? The sealed batteries (glass mat, gel) don't deliver power as fast and battery experts discourage them as cranking batteries.

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution? SOLVED!

Well I can’t say for sure it was the sole problem but it was the last thing I did that solved the starting problem. I went through and installed all new battery cables. 2/0 welding cable ran ground to motor and went to start it and nothing. Just a click and no more. Did some voltage test and every time I would hit push starter button my voltage at starter would drop to less than 1 volt. After chasing wires and determining all was good on the starter circuit I removed the battery disconnect switch and hooked directly to battery and she turned over better than ever. Apparently it losing current through the switch. More than likely that was the problem all along but everything that was done was needed. I appreciate all of the ideas and suggestions on helping solve the issue! Now time to do some servicing as I have some moisture in the transmission fluid.

Happy you found the problem. I found out a long time ago to start with the easiest tests first but, I still tend to overthink a problem. I'll admit that electrical problems are my weak suite. Good luck with your moisture problem. I'd let it set a while and remove the tranny drain plug to capture the water in there. Drain the water until it turns to oil, then replace the plug. If it's a minor amount of water, I wouldn't be too concerned because they all draw moisture from the warming and cooling of all that cast iron. gregjo1948

Sea foam hydra tune is good for moisture removal in oils
