Blade float on a 450() with a Drott 4 in 1

Post by Cle Elum John » Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:02 am

This might be a really dumb question. Does the a 450 straight with a Drott 4 in 1 have a float position? I can't seem to get mine to get into that mode. Is there a trick with the controls? Is it just broken, modified or somehow badly adjusted? Does the 4 in 1 even have that feature? The ops manual is not very clear for the 4 in 1.

Thanks

As far as I remember the float is the loader lift arms only, same as a dozer or regular loader. No float on the bucket curl or 4 in 1 bucket clamshell operation.

Figured it out. It just takes a lot of force to get into the float detent. More than I am normally comfortable putting on a control lever. It works well. Owned the dozer for a couple of years and never knew the function existed.
