450c hydraulic return line

Is it true the steel return line from pump to tank is 1.5 " ?. My steel line has rubbed almost through along frame rail looks like someone had wrapped some rubber around it at one time but rubber was all decorated from oil , I see a few spots were steel line was brazed.can I not just yank all that shit out and run 1.5" ID suction hydraulic line from tank rate to last steel line piece at pump and eliminate the steel line?. looks like it shouldn't be a issue to route it to the front .anybody go through this already ? Thanx
