Engine removal 450C

Post by 8thnotch » Sun Aug 23, 2020 7:44 am

450C crawler loader some of you had said remove loader frame to access everything. What is all involved in removing loader frame besides the 4 mounting pins to frame and undoing all hydraulics under the steps . Looks like the frame to hang a back hoe has to come off also but I have snapped off bolts on mine . Book shows removing hood, rad, filters etc and pulling engine forward and out what’s the easiest way for the loader crawler? Thanks again

Pulling the pins and hoses should be it but it is extremally heavy so dont get a toe in the way. Remove the nose housing and I kept the rad on. I unbolt the bell housing and it should start to slide out. I actually did mine by myself. It sucks but that should tell you how easy it is.

You do not need to pull the loader to pull the engine. You need to raise your loader and install a brace on a lift cylinder.
