Oil Types
Oil Types
Hi All. I'm new to heavy duty and I'm a little confused on what oil goes where and what type of oil I should be using. There are 2 fill ports on the floor of my JD-350B loader . I'm assuming one is for the reverser and one is for the transmission ? What type of oil should I use for these ? Hyguard ? My local dealer also recommended I use Hyguard hydraulic oil in the loader reservoir but after reading about it here in this forum maybe I should be running AW32 ? I don't want to damage anything by using the wrong oil. Thanks everyone !

Hi,
Yes, the reverser and trans are separate. HyGard is what you want.

Re: Oil Types
Hy-Gard is correct for the hydraulic system as well.
Hy-Gard is in the Universal Transmission Hydraulic Fluid category so it covers multiple systems. If you decide to use an aftermarket UTHF be sure the label says it meets John Deere's JDM J20C spec. Stay away from the current oils labelled 303, even if your manual says to use 303. This is because the John Deere 303 formula can not be met, Hy-Gard is the JD replacement for 303.
