Ripper shanks

Post by 77 Ford » Tue Oct 13, 2020 10:31 am

How do the shanks fit into the slot? I have the shank the wedge and the spring, there is also a 5/16" bolt in the parts diagram. How does all this fit together to lock the shank in the slot? There are groves in the side of the shank is that supposed to fit into something? Can anyone provide some up close photos of how the shanks all locks in? Is it just a smooth slot in the ripper attachment or are there ears in there somewhere?

I'm not sure I have the 3110 base anymore as my shanks are slight larger than the slot.

Hello,

I went to the vault and checked. No operators manual for the 3110, but I do have a era correct paper parts manual. I couldn’t determine how the shank is attached.

Keep us posted. Bruce

Just bought one. I have pdf of om-u17207 John Deere 3100 and 3110 operators manual if you tell where to send it. How do you attach pictures here? Machine is supposed to be hauled in this weekend.
