Tips for hydraulic bleed after full system swap?

Post by AddamsonFlint » Sun Nov 08, 2020 1:49 pm

Never done it before, but going to fire up system today.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a tutorial or video, or even some tips, please let me know.

Otherwise, I'm assuming just carefully crack fittings all around?

The system is self bleeding, just work the functions, you don't need to crack fittings. If anything unhook the wire from the injection pump and crank it in a few bursts while holding the lift lever engaged to let the pump pull oil in. Once it starts to lift, start it and cycle the functions full stroke to work the air out. You will need to watch the reservoir and may have to shut it down for a bit, if it looks frothy, to let the air clear from the oil. If you did not drain, and take every hose and cylinder off, it shouldn't take long.

Thank you sir, good tips always from you. Totally dig the dry crank first, rather than a fully raging pump right off the rip. The system is fully new and without a drop. But after as long as this took, a few extra minutes ain't bad.
