350 Injector Removal

Post by stevenx40 » Mon Feb 15, 2021 7:32 am

Hello all, In anticipation for removal and replacement of my 52 year old 1969 JD350 injectors i have read most of the post. I was wondering if i were to loosen the hold down nuts on each injector about 1/8" and try starting the motor that they would start to move the injector just enough to break it free for easier complete removal. Is it a worthwhile task or will the struggle be hard all the way out. I would appreciate your thoughts. Steve

I would not do that. Soak them in your favorite weasel piss and just try to pull them out.

I agree with Lavoy on this. If you plan to replace them anyway then they aren't sacred. If I think they are going to be tight I soak them and then use a pry bar or a hammer and punch to loosen them. Pry them laterally or turn them from side to side to loosen them. Then they will pry up and out pretty easily.

I would anti-seize the new ones before putting them back in.

there is a small slide hammer that I bought to remove pencil injectors because the first set I took of my 66 350 I ended up destroying the injectors using pry bars believe I purchased on Amazon OTC also makes one much easier
