350 diesel injector pump swap

Post by Jerseymill » Sun Mar 28, 2021 5:42 am

My 350 runs lumpy and the injector pump leaks. I have already installed New injectors and I would like try swapping pumps with a stanadyne model JDB331al2405 that someone gave me My machine currently has a Roosa master model DBGFC 331-13DH pump. The ultimate question I have is the stanadyne compatible with my straight 350. Thank you

Roosa Master is a Stanadyne product line. They just use the Stanadyne name, rather than Roosa Master now. If I was doing it I would run it by the pump shop I use, as they should have access to the specs of both and confirm the one you were given is set up right to replace yours or if it needs modification or adjusting to be correct. Just my thoughts.

Unless that model came from the factory on a 350 crawler, and unless it is setup at flow rate and such for a 350 crawler, I would not.

The pump that was given to me was off a 350b and I’d like to try it on my straight 350.

Do they have the John Deere part numbers on them as well as the Stanadyne/Roosa Master numbers? Many did. If so, you might be able to use the on line parts catalogs to see if they interchange, or the 350B one is a replacement sub number for your 350 pump.

If they can't be matched that way, I would still run the numbers of the two by a pump shop to verify they are interchangeable without adjustment. Are you sure your injection nozzles are up to snuff?
