450c track adjuster replacement
450c track adjuster replacement
Hey every one, hope you are all well.I blew seal on track adjuster but haven’t had time to replace it I have the track tensioned up with a piece of angle iron wedged between back of yoke and frame for a temp fix . I got the new seals now and want to fix it .Originally I thought I could just fix it where it sits but looks like it might be more of a job for in the shop.Do I need to split track to get the yoke out?.or can I just chain track tight from bucket undo the four bolts from back of idler lift up and pull off shaft.Track looks like it has never been apart,so would it have a master pin? or do I just pick a pin heat and beat . If I could change seal without pulling track apart that would be awesome . Thanks for the help,-cheers .
Re: 450c track adjuster replacement
put a block of wood by the sprocket go in reverse with the grease fitting and bleed valve out should give enough slack to remove jim
Re: 450c track adjuster replacement
Sort of following you Jim ,cut a chunk of 4x4 board or whatever stick it at back sprocket run machine back to wedge it to collapse adjuster all the way. Than do I work track off the front idler and pull aside or do I come -along track back tight ,undo bolts from yoke and pull out adjuster and rod from the spring as a unit ?or do I block machine up so track is off ground spin it with block of wood slacken and remove track as one piece than work at it , thanx
Re: 450c track adjuster replacement
you should be able to leave track on use come alongs to pull track forward and if you have an engine lift pick track up some should be able to remove yoke
Re: 450c track adjuster replacement
Ok if I pull-up on yoke and piston can I pull it out of spring Assy as a unit kind of up and out than? Looks like piston just sits against a cup at spring . Thanx for the help
Re: 450c track adjuster replacement
yes you should tbe able to get out of the spring cup
