555G temperature alarm

Can anyone tell me where the coolant sensor is located on the engine block on my JD 555G. The coolant temp. alarm goes off at different times for a short period of time. I have the Technical manual for this model but for the life of me I can't find the sensor.

Temperature sender switch should be on the top, left rear corner of the head. That is where most of the 4 cylinder engines were and where the parts catalog shows it. Post back if it isn't there.

Just a note that might get your question more visibility. Questions like this should be on the Late Models Board. Lavoy, or a moderator, will likely move it over there when they see it.
