400G LONG TRACK

Post by cantbeatadeere » Wed Jun 30, 2021 7:43 pm

Short story....I have a local painter lined up to make my 79 350c look a little prettier, bought the decals from Deere .....looking on the net and POW....... a two owner-never outside-well taken care of LOW HOUR(933) 91 400G LONG TRACK....all original. first owner used it 600 hrs and the second, well, the rest. He changed every fluid including the anti freeze and all filters 160 hrs ago, the engine oil 11 hrs before I got it, all Deere. it's gorgeous. like anything I have a couple very small things to make it perfect. they had only one battery(battery box is believe it or not..as new!!!) the tilt ram slight leak, the steering levers slightly off from each other when pulled and the blade needed a shim removed. the steps between the tracks are perfect shape. fresh grease along with a big ring of regular greasing's. the tool tray, under tray support(wooden O.E), all the brackets and the factory case along with the manual. drove 10 hrs round trip with the 3/4 ton Cummins and a 11,000 lb. tilt(little over loaded) running around 78 mph on the hywy, hubs and tires stayed cool even in the 89 deg heat. I am getting it tip top before I use it...............now, what to do with my mechanically PERFECT 2,320 hr 350c??? :D :D :D :D :D

Congratulations on your find!!

I'd try and find someone who would appreciate the 350c and sell it. Nothing worse on a dozer than sitting forever, they are made to work. Now if you have sentimental attachment to it, I get that I'm close to the worlds worst on selling stuff.

completely agree, setting is bad...there is probably not many 350's at all in this condition...I started at the transmission and worked my way out replacing any and all seals/gaskets, checking and adjusting end plays, replaced all couplers and ANYTHING remotely showing wear including reverser and hydraulic pumps(BOTH O.E.)...when I get something I make it absolutely top notch mechanically(and sometimes cosmetically) -- with how I operate and maintain I should never have to touch them again...so far so good.....
