I was having issues with the dozer not pushing when the oil got hot
Found out the adjuster nut in the bellhousing had vibrated loose and almost ready to fall off.
I adjusted the HLR pressure and the dozer seems to move good now.
1.) Shifting into reverse the pressure gauge reads a lot lower than the H and L forward speeds. It still functions good but I didn't want to keep using it if the low reverse pressure would create a problem eventually.
2.) Also, i was unclear on the instructions. It states to adjust the clutch pedal free travel (which I have done), but it is unclear after the pedal adjustment and you begin to adjust the nut in the bellhousing.......is the engine at idle or ? to properly adjust?
If its suppose to be at idle I dont get anywhere near 180 psi. It goes to about 68psi. If I put it at half throttle it goes to about 185.
I have a manual and it doesn't say what speed the engine should be at.

Earlier series are at 1500 rpm. I can’t say for certain with your E series

On your #2 item. I am understanding you are talking about adjusting the HLR clutch valve nut adjustment. What manual do you have? I looked at my 450E manual (TM1330OP) for the procedure. Step # 5 says "With both gear shift and H-L-R Levers in neutral and brakes locked, start engine and run at slow idle." In # 6 they don't specify a pressure they say turn the nut in until it reaches a maximum pressure and begins to drop off.
Here is a picture of the page from my manual. Is that the same as yours?

Ah, yes. That is the same manual I have.
I missed the part "slow idle"
I'll have to readjust it tomorrow and see how the pressures behave.

Re: 450E reverse HLR pressure seems low
Weather is getting good and I need to use the dozer.
Reverse quits pulling or barely works when the trans starts to get warm
H and L work great and push loads no problem even when the trans warms up
Everything seems to be adjusted properly
I changed the filter and cleaned the screen in the trans. Has all new trans oil.
Is there anything I can check or do to isolate what the problem is before I pull the engine and tear it apart?
