JD350c cutting edge

Post by renogang » Sat Jan 22, 2022 7:29 pm

I need to replace the cutting edge and teeth on my JD 350C, my local steel supply shop stocks cutting edge in a couple of widths. What is the stock width on a 350C, mine is worn pretty badly?

Thanks, Randy

Several different buckets were used on 350Cs, including some may be aftermarket. Cutting edge stock width, thickness, length, and style will vary with the bucket on the machine. Light materials buckets will generally have a different edge that a rock (severe duty) or a 4 way bucket of the same size. The edge may or may not have holes for bolt on shanks for teeth or replaceable edge. You may want to consider changing to that type if you have weld on shanks now. You can unbolt the shanks and bolt a replaceable edge on if you need to clean a smooth surface. Some stock ones were exact length for the bucket and had the ends of the edge bent up to form the side cutters. Others used a straight edge and short pieces of edge were fitted and welded to form the side cutters. I would estimate you would be in the 6 to 8 inch width on a 350 bucket. Check to see if any special welding procedure or materials are recommended as edge materials can vary. Someone may be along with better info. If not, I would say find one of weight/type that matches you bucket type, you like the looks of, and go with it, as it was not just one edge used for all 350C buckets.

Thanks for the reply. Its not a 4 way bucket, didnt realize there was options beyond that. I was going to get weld on shanks that the teeth pin too so i could relace if i broke one.

You can get bolt on shanks with replaceable teeth, as well.
