450C 6405 (6Way Blade) Pins-n-Bushings

Post by missesess » Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:57 pm

I'm looking for the 'Bi-Metal' Bronze Bushings for the Angle Cylinders for the 6-Way Blade on a 1976 450C-6405 'dozer'.
The ones I've come across 'hither and thither' on the net listed for this model appear incorrect! They are pictured as thick walled solid steel types.
Mine are 1-1/2" ID x 1-5/8" OD. 1/34" long and 1/3/8" long (1/16" wall thickness) .... Bi-Metal, Bronze lined with Steel shell with a 'butterfly' joint - dimpled ID to hold grease.
I cannot find a supplier for these and web searches bring up nigh-on every manufacturing outfit in China looking for quantity business.
Anyone know where to get these? I know they're not unique to construction equipment!

There was a thread I saw a few days back here discussing Pins and Bushings, which frustratingly I cannot find now. Knash! A commenter weighed-in about steel types for the pins which was most interesting. Mentioned 4140 steel, 1045, 1018 and 'Stress-proof' 1144. Another guy pictured a bushing "just like I was after" so I'm hoping this thread may evolve to include the prior commenters.
Hat tip to the steel pin guy tho ..... I just ordered a batch of 3 x 7-1/2' long 1-1/2" diameter 1045 'end cuts' from ebay for $20. I'm going to cut to length and drill the retainer pin-holes myself.
