jd 350c hydraulic leak

i have a 1985 350c. has a hyd. leak that appears to be probably one of the lines coming from the pump on front of engine, anyone know how to acces these lines? according to parts manual looks like there are 2 line going from resevoir/control to pump. they look like they join togeter at one point with rubber hose.

Welcome to the Boards. A bit of housekeeping. A post with a question like this one you have on your 350C should be on the Late Models Board. Lavoy or a moderator will likely move it when they see it.

Looking at the online parts manual the pressure side (going from the pump to the control valve) is several interconnected sections of hard tube between the pump and control valve. The suction side tube, going to the pump from the reservoir, is sections of hard tube joined with pieces of hose. If you have to replace those hose sections, be sure you get hose rated for hydraulic oil service. It may look like plain radiator/heater hose, but it isn't. As for access I expect you will need to drop the belly pans. Use care doing that as they are heavy especially if filled with dirt and crud. A transmission jack works well to handle them, or a good-sized floor jack will work. Some have basketed under them with slings or chains and used com-a-longs to lower and raise them. If you can get your crawler up on some 6 x 6 timbers, working under it will be easier. If you wanted the blade raised for access, be sure to block it up or chain it up so it can't come down on you. Do not use concrete blocks as blocking, use wood (or jack stands if appropriate).
