Re: 450 B or C
I’m having same issues. I have pic of my model numbers. I need info on how adjust and fill correctly.
Re: 450 B or C
Tag says type 450BC serial 187156T
Re: 450 B or C
450B with a 6405 blade (C is for the blade type), serial number is a 1975. T means it was built in Dubuque.
Lavoy can likely get you the correct manuals (operator's manual will have the general service info) for it through his store if you email him (postmaster@jdcrawlers.com.

Re: 450 B or C
Thank you. Which manual will I need to tell me the steering adjustment procedure
Re: 450 B or C
Both the Operator's and Technical manuals have the adjustment procedure. You will need to check you 450B to see if it has dry or wet steering clutches as in 1975, they started building 450Cs. The Cs have wet steering clutches and somewhere along the way Bs got them too as the dry clutch parts ran out. If you have wet clutches, you will likely need the clutch and brake info from a C manual; I don't think they covered wet clutches in the B manuals.
Re: 450 B or C
Thank you. That’s exact info I needed. Because I’ve got 2 machines. 1 is bucket 1 is blade. I have the books for 450B and my machines are both wet clutches so I need the 450c books. That was the missing link in books I couldn’t figure out. Cause the books I have show a total different version of adjustment than my machines need.
