So I have a JD350 diesel that I have been plugging away on for the last two years. Heavily used/abused prior to me. Reverser was leaking when I bought it. Replaced reverser seals and completely shot drive sprockets, tracks and chains were ok. Full service and she was running. 6 way blade with cracked frame and pin and bushing shot. welded up frame but let the pin and bushing slide as this will be primarily a snow plow rig for mountain property. Was always a bugger to get started, ether addicted. Injector pump finally blew a month ago so decided to let the pro's rebuild. Got the pump on, finally bled the flippin thing and she ran great. Was working lightly, noticed it getting warm, so drove back to its parking spot, 50ft away, and bang, rod through the crankcase.
At this point do I continue to sink money and time? It had 6100hrs whenever the hour meter stopped working. I like old iron and don't want to condemn to scrap but when is enough? 2 years, about $6000 all in and maybe 5 hours of actual work out of it.

To me it's not just about the math, if my old girl blew her engine I'd find a replacement but that's just me. I really enjoy working on and with her, I have a project this weekend to clear a few acres of bradford pear trees. I'm hoping we've received enough rain lately that I just don't shear them off.

I have a good engine out of a straight 450 I would sell you but I see we are on opposite ends of the world lol:) Hate that happened, hope you're able to find an engine at a decent price.
