My 450(straight) has never had hood (cowl) latches. I have been using two shipping tie-down straps over the top and securing with a ratcheting tensioner. Is there another better solution than just holding it down with straps over the top, around the outside. It's a kluge of parts and a pita to get them on and off. Has anyone come up with a substitute for the original John Deere autographed parts? It looks like the original attachments on the hood and the tiedows are intact.
What about something completely different and ingenious that John Deere never thought of.
The crawler has a Drott 1 in 4 so it tends to pull the cowl off if it is not secured.
Any ideas? Pictures would help.

I have replacements that are not exact, but I have used and sold them for 20 years, no complaints.
