Well, the intermittent electrical nature of my dozer has become a real hassle.
Does anyone have a link or a copy of the wiring they could post?

Re: 450c wiring schematic
Sadly, I don’t have a schematic.
Several members have bought new harnesses and have given good feedback.

Re: 450c wiring schematic
First question is: Are you 100% sure it is a 450C by serial number confirmation? A lot of 450 and 450B crawlers got 450C decals during paint jobs. It will make some difference in wiring diagrams and the proper manuals. Once model and series are confirmed, do you have the correct service/technical manual for your crawler? That is where the wiring schematics are found. If no one here has one to give you, you could ask your JD construction equipment dealer if they will make and give you copies of the diagrams. The best I can offer is there is a copy of a 450B manual online you can download. The wiring will be similar to a 450 and 450C but may not be 100%. Lavoy may be able to get you a manual through his store or you can go to eBay for used OEM manuals. Here is a link to the TM1033, 450B technical manual. The 450C needs technical manual TM1102. A straight 450 service manual is SM2064.

A couple other thoughts on intermittent starter engagement is the neutral switch failing or it and shift linkage could be out of adjustment. As a test, JUST AS A TEST, you can bypass the neutral switch with a jumper wire between the wires connected to it. Be sure the HLR and gear transmissions are in neutral when you do this. Bulkhead connectors can get loose and/or dirty over time and cause problems.

Re: 450c wiring schematic
Does your 450c have a voltmeter or ammeter?
Mine has an ammeter (yes, it is a real 450c) and couldn’t find a schematic anywhere. I found a schematic for a 450b was close but had different wire colors.
