450B oil pressure sensor/sending unit
Hey guys i am having trouble finding the oil pressure sensor/sending unit part number for a 450b dozer. do any of you know it?
Re: 450B oil pressure sensor/sending unit
Here is a link to the online parts book for the 450B dozer. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/nav ... ment/59420
Go to Section 75 Electrical System. in that section go to Alternator, Starting Motor and Front wiring Harness (JO5) 75-3. The engine oil pressure sender is item key # 9 (AT84200).

Re: 450B oil pressure sensor/sending unit
Will any aftermarket gauge work with these sending units or do I have to get a different sender as well.
Re: 450B oil pressure sensor/sending unit
Gauges and senders need to match. To match OEM gauges to aftermarket senders or gauges you need to know the ohm ranges of both. Some aftermarket catalogs cross OEM numbers but not all and they may not be correct. It is best to buy the gauge and sender as a set when going with aftermarket ones. I would seriously consider changing the engine oil pressure gauge to a mechanical gauge. You likely will consider the same if you price the gauge and sender at John Deere. You should check with Lavoy to see what he has available for gauges and senders.

Also, the guy at Napa told me he could match a gauge and sender up if he knew the thread size for sender? Do you know the thread size

Lavoy is the owner of this site. His business of repairing, and selling parts, for John Deere crawlers, the older ones mainly, provides this site for our use. You can email him (postmaster@jdcrawlers.com) or call him (701-361-1006 during CST business hours) about parts. He sells parts he uses in his shop, so you have assurance he doesn't sell junk and he is there to support you if there is a problem. If you are looking for something he can't get he can often give you suggestions of where to check.
