Are the front end buckets interchangeable on a 350 / 450 ?
How about undercarriage parts ?

Nope... 450 is much larger than the 350.

Agree with LeonardL. But curious what situation you are involved in?

My loader bucket is missing 5 teeth. I was contemplating welding on a few teeth from an a 50’s model Caterpillar D4 or tracking down another used 350/450 bucket for my 450.

Do you use the John Deere online parts catalogs to find part numbers, then use the numbers to look for parts? You can get teeth from John Deere or other sources by using the JD part numbers. Many equipment dealers have access to an aftermarket line of shanks, teeth and adapters for other manufacturers buckets as well.

If you don't have it, here is a link to the JD parts catalog website. JD online Parts Catalogs

Enter your crawler model number, 450, in the box and then click search. You will get a list of machines with 450 in the titles. You want PC922 for the 450 - Bulldozer (450 Crawler Tractor). For your loader attachment you want JD450 Loader (for the JD450 Crawler Tractor) - PC927. The good thing about the online catalogs, other than the old ones still in the pdf versions, is that the old numbers refer you to the current numbers where things have been superseded.

You can also search other models when you want to compare parts between machines, like your 350/450 bucket question. If the part numbers don't match, chances are the parts are not interchangeable.

That’s very helpful information, Jim. No I never bothered using online John Deere parts catologs being I figured it was a waste of time knowing all the parts for my machine are probably no longer made. My loader is a 65-70 model. But you make a lot of good points about aftermarket parts.

The parts drawing for things that have not been made for years are there and a part number (old or the substitute) is there. Those part numbers are very helpful if you are looking for something be it new or used from a salvage yard or eBay seller for instance. Sometimes even having the actual name JD used for a part can help find what you need.

In the case of your bucket teeth John Deere parts shows: AU13811 Tooth replaced by:
U16864 shank (bolts on by the catalog)
T29887 Tooth
TP160 Pin
