Needing info on rebuilt reverser for 350C

Post by Mickdunde » Mon Feb 05, 2007 11:47 pm

I have a 1984 350C.
Ok, my reverser is bad, both shaft splines are worn, input and output. The case seems to be in good condition. I was wondering if there is a place that rebuilds reversers or sells the interior parts for them other than JD. I also need a new isolator plate and springs. Is there any place making after market parts for any of these items? Can someone who has replaced these items provide some info?
Thanks,
Mick

Give Wengers Construction Equipment a call. Theyre located in PA.
1-800-552-5080. I know they rebiuld finals and power shifts out of the bigger machines. They may even have a complete used assembly

I have reverser parts, but the only source currently for the isolator is Deere.

You should be able to rebuild your shafts at a good welding shop First see if they can spray weld them. Then machine the shaft ends smooth to the new bearing races .Good machine shops will have this equipment so look around .It is a fairly easy job so it should be in expensive . Digitup.

RE: Update on gettting rebuilt parts for reverser

Post by Mickdunde » Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:36 pm

I was able to get the forward spider clutch part # T37439 repaired at a local machine shop for about half the price of a new one. The splines were badly worn on my shaft, and they were able weld them up and recut them. (That is the end of the shaft that slides through the isolator.)
The name of the machine shop is : Melching Machine, Inc.
1630 Baker Drive
Ossian, IN 46777
Phone (260) 622-4315
Ask for Ryan Melching

They have the CNC program to do this, so give them a call if you need your shaft repaired.

Do look around for the rest of the parts as even the AG dealers can find parts for the old Deeres in stock [if they want to find them ]If you have the part number they can find most parts .The same multiple plate clutch facings are in a 450 B-C-or D powershift as a 8 speed powershift transmission in a old 4020 tractor As a mater of fact it is only a different housing on the 8 speed powershift in the older graders .Part # cross over from agricultural to industrial as well.Good luck .Digitup.

After market parts for the reverser

Post by Mickdunde » Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:13 pm

I was able to find aftermarket parts for the reverser from,
P & D Mechanical
6711 Rt 31
Cicero, NY 13039
Phone 315-559-4992

He has metal plates (T15793) for $16.50ea. and two options for the output shaft (T34905), the better quality one is US made for $360, and the foreign one is 253.50. I got the one for $360. He also had the output coupling for $48.
