450 b injector pump

Post by make do homesteader » Mon Jul 03, 2023 8:05 am

I've heard that injector pump rebuilds are pricy. I have an obvious seal leak on the back of the pump (to much loss to ignore). Is it unadviseable to just replace a seal? The unit is from 1975 so naturally all the seals are older. What would most of you do, and where would you suggest sending it to? Or where would you buy a remanned injector pump? As always, thanks for the advice.

It depends on your mechanical ability. If you are good with tools and have a basic knowledge for mechanical repairs then you can look at fixing what is leaking. As old as your machine is however I would recommend taking the pump off and having it re-built. As for where to send it? For you "North East Diesel" there in North Springfield is the best place. They're easy to find, have competitive rates and they do good work. ( 417-866-2220 )
