350B steering brake lever question

I'm replacing the steering clutches and brakes on my 350B and had a question on the "brake lever". This is a lever inside the steering and braking mechanism. It is part T23624T and is on the steering arm shaft that runs under the cover plate for the steering clutch and brake adjustment.

Is the lever, part T23624T , supposed to move freely on the shaft, or does it have one of the Woodruff keys in it to key it to the shaft?

At present both the left and right brake levers move with the shaft. I didn't want to try and break them free if they are supposed to move with the shaft.

Not sure in the 350s..if same as 420 and 440 series....believe you might be talking about the brake adjustment...rocker arm?...mine does have a woodruff key as well as a capscrew that tightens (pinchers) around the shaft...they do have a tendency to break the casting (pincher) and become loose and then need replaced.

The arm with the adjustment screw in it looks like it is keyed to the shaft, and it does have the capscrew to pinch the shaft.

The part I am referring to is the arm/lever that the screw pushes against, and then a rod connects to the brake pedal and a small plate connects to the brake toggle lever.

I do think this is supposed to move freely on the shaft because when you push on the brake pedal, I don't think it is supposed to affect the steering clutches.

Yes... the lever you are looking at should move freely on the shaft. If it doesn't then the brake function will not work properly. It is also nearly impossible to make adjustments with it stuck to the shaft.

It now spins freely on the shaft.
After a week of penetrating oil, banging, and cursing.
LOL

I figure since everything is apart, I may as well make sure everything works as it should.
