John Deere 450 CA-- Santa Cruz, CA--Service Help Requested

Greetings,
If anyone is familiar with servicing the steering of this machine and is located near Santa Cruz, CA, please get in touch.
I feel no resistance when pulling back left steering lever. It does occasionally still work however!
The closest professional guys familiar with servicing this machine charge an arm and a leg travel fee just to get to me to diagnose.
Happy to pay cash to anyone competent that can come over and help me out.
