Post by Slice155 » Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:35 pm

on the left side steering clutches..

the brake lever riding on the steering shaft. i see that is uses a snap rings to hold it in place i have removed it. but still cant get the brake lever to slide off shaft.. i know the steering arm has a woodruf key and set screw.

should'nt the brake lever slide off or is there something i am missing...

Yes, the lever should come off once you have removed or loosened the set screw. I usually just remove the screw completely. The lever could be seized with rust, If you have a torch then some heat can be applied to help loosen it. I have also used a good penetrating oil and then drive them off with a hammer. Just be careful not to break the lever.
